We are now offering aquatic physiotherapy with our aquatic therapist, Charlotte Czepek.
The brand new therapy pool is temperature regulated to 88 – 92 degrees Fahrenheit, it is entered via pool-width stairs and railing or an accessible chair lift. The depth gradually increases from 3’6” to 5’4”. Therapy sessions are currently 1:1 due to covid protocols, are 30 minutes in length, and designed by the therapist to meet each individual’s needs.
Aquatic therapy is a unique treatment option as the warm temperature, buoyancy, and hydro-static pressure offer many benefits to various patient demographics. These benefits include pain management, oedema control, increased tissue extensibility, cardiac conditioning and muscle activation to list a few. These principles make aquatic therapy a safe, beneficial and enjoyable method of treatment for endless conditions.
