A whole person approach to your current pelvic health issue. For us to work with you, within your level of comfort. Trauma sensitive and inclusive care. Treatment at any point in your monthly cycle. Hands-on treatment when appropriate and exercise/lifestyle prescription to help you manage your condition.
Pelvic health physiotherapy can also address issues such as fissures, persistent pain from IBS and endometriosis, dysmenorrhea, IC, bladder pain syndrome, PCOS. Many pelvic pain conditions are under-diagnosed and under treated with many people believing it is just “aging” or the “way things are.” It’s not just about ‘Kegels’. Strengthening a dysfunctional group of muscles furthers dysfunction. A pelvic health PT can assess muscular strength and weakness; the ability to contract AND relax are both fundamental to good function. We look through a biopsychosocial lens. Assessment and treatment may use a combination of manual and exercise therapy, relaxation, mindfulness and breathing techniques taking a whole body – whole person approach to care.
